For Black Women has been actively engaging in outreach since 2018, reaching out to women who have been impacted by interpersonal violence and sexual assault. The organization is dedicated to providing tools, resources, and a supportive community to facilitate healing and personal growth.

Outreach Initiatives:


Medical Advocacy:
Providing support and advocacy for Black women navigating the medical system, ensuring they receive proper care and access to healthcare resources.

Court Advocacy:
Assisting and advocating for Black women involved in legal processes related to domestic violence, racial trauma, and other forms of abuse.



Safety Planning:
Helping Black women create personalized safety plans to protect themselves from abusive partners and ensure their well-being.

Resource Referrals:
Connecting women with essential resources, such as counseling services, shelters, and legal assistance.

Emergency Rehousing Funding:
Providing financial support for emergency housing to help women escape dangerous situations.

Emergency Hotel Passes:
Offering temporary shelter options through hotel passes for immediate safety.

Outreach and advocacy:

Addressing Period Poverty:
Distributing period kits and products to women in need, ensuring they have access to essential menstrual hygiene items.




Homegirl Hotline:
Establishing a hotline for women to seek support, resources, and assistance with various challenges they face.
Awareness and Education:
Organizing conferences, training sessions, and workshops to raise awareness about issues affecting Black women.
Encouragement Letters:
Sending letters of encouragement and empowerment to women in shelters and those incarcerated to uplift their spirits.
Mentorship for Black Girls 11-19:
Offering mentorship programs to support young Black girls in their personal development, education, and life goals.

Community Re-entry Program:

Resources for Recently Freed Women:
Providing resources and support to women recently released from incarceration to help them reintegrate into society.
Workshops for Women in Residential Facilities and Shelters:
Providing resources and support to women recently released from incarceration to help them reintegrate into society.
Mentorship Programs:
Offering mentorship to women in need, providing guidance and support during their transition and healing journey.
Workshop for Life Skills and Personal Development:
Conducting workshops that empower women with essential life skills and promote personal growth and resilience.
Creative Writing and Theater:
Using creative expression through writing and theater to help women heal, process their experiences, and find empowerment.
Her Closet:
Establishing a collection of clothing and essential items for homeless women, women in shelters, or those facing economic hardship.
Oh, Baby! Baskets:
Providing baskets with clothing and other baby necessities to support mothers in shelters or facing financial struggles.
Single (Baby) Mama Fund:
Creating a fund to provide financial assistance and resources for single mothers in need.

For Black Women's advocacy, prevention, and outreach initiatives are integral to its mission of empowering and supporting Black women who have experienced domestic violence and racial trauma. By addressing the root causes of violence, providing resources, and engaging the community, the organization strives to create a safe and supportive environment for Black women to thrive and heal.
